Frequently Asked Questions
-
This program is brought to you by The Kelty Foundation and is provided at no cost to schools. It offers students and families tools and resources for mental health in a fun, engaging way that reinforces community and belonging within your school.
-
The Kind Mind Program is designed to complement and enhance the social emotional learning already happening in elementary schools. Rather than replacing curriculum-based instruction, it serves as a bridge between school and home by extending these conversations into the family setting.
-
Your school principal and/or counsellor (“Program Leader”) will need to attend an Info Session. During
this session, we’ll walk through the program and answer any questions you may have. After the call, we will send a letter of commitment, along with a short pre-program survey. The program website will be shared one month before your start date, and your
Kind Mind Program Kits will arrive approximately one week prior to launch.
-
The Program is designed to be flexible and inclusive. While activities are intended to be completed at home with a family member where possible, we recognize that every student’s situation is different. Schools and
educators are best placed to determine the most appropriate support, and students may complete
activities with a trusted adult at school or another supportive caregiver if needed.
-
Although the School Checklist is not mandatory to complete Kind Mind Month, we highly recommend schools participate. This checklist is designed to promote school community and belonging and to continue to engage with the program in a fun way! Each challenge that your school completes is an entry to win your school a Confi-Dance, led by DJ Rock’N’Beau! To find out more details, click here!
-
Teachers, with the support of the Program Leader, will put forward outstanding students who have embraced and completed Kind Mind
Month. Teachers will work together to recognize three students from each Crew level (1,2,3) for their commitment and recognize one student overall that has fully excelled in the Kind Mind Program, for a total of 10 awards at the end of month celebration assembly.
