Kids Help Phone

Confidential, 24/7 support service offering free mental health and crisis support to young people across Canada. It provides phone, text, and online chat support, as well as self-guided resources and professional counseling. Kids Help Phone is available in multiple languages and is accessible to youth anytime, anywhere, ensuring they have a safe space to seek help for issues like anxiety, bullying, relationships, and mental health challenges.

BRITISH COLUMBIA CENTRE ON SUBSTANCE USE

EDUCATORS:

  • Education & Training - Accessible online learning tools, resources and a fellowship training to strengthen addiction medicine education activities across disciplines, academic institutions, and health authorities


BC CRISIS CENTRE

Provides 24/7, free, and confidential support for individuals in crisis or distress. Through phone, chat, and text services, they offer immediate emotional support, suicide prevention, and mental health resources. They also provide community education and training programs to promote mental health awareness and crisis intervention skills.

CAREGIVERS AND EDUCATORS:

  • MindFlip Program - Free online program for youth that provides practical and accessible knowledge and tools to support mental health and navigate life challenges.

  • Skillfully Responding to Distress - This half-day session explores how to skillfully respond to and de-escalate emotional distress for a person in crisis.


FamilySmart

CAREGIVERS & EDUCATORS:

  • Monthly Events - Every month, FamilySmart hosts online and in-person events for parents & caregivers who are parenting a child or youth with a mental health and/or substance use challenge. Online events are facilitated by FamilySmart Family Peer Support Workers.
