Navigating Big Emotions: Kind Minds for Parents and Caregivers
This optional 1-hour interactive session explores how anxiety and big emotions impact the brain, body, and behaviours. Participants will gain practical tools for supporting both child and parent well-being, using the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) ACCEPTS Model—a set of six coping skills: Activities, Contributing, Comparisons, Emotions, Pushing Away, Thoughts, and Sensations. Designed for both parents and teachers, this workshop provides actionable strategies to navigate anxiety and emotional challenges effectively. Followed by a Q&A.
Note: This workshop is free for schools participating in the Kind Mind Program and is recommended to be scheduled during your school’s Kind Mind Month. The presenter will attend in person, with the option to also deliver the session via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, depending on your school’s preference.
Please email Hayley Matches, hayley@thekeltyfoundation.org, if you are interested in participating in the workshop and have not yet received a booking link.

We know your time is valuable! To make things easier, here’s a suggested blurb you can copy and paste into your school newsletter when announcing the program:
Kind Mind Month is Coming! The Kelty Foundation is excited to bring the Kind Mind School Tour to our school! This month-long mental health initiative will help students build resilience and practice kindness through engaging social-emotional challenges. Parents will also receive helpful resources to support their child’s mental health at home. The month will culminate in the Kind Mind Confi-DANCE, an exciting dance party with a purpose, where students will celebrate everything they’ve learned. We’re looking forward to a month of learning, connection, and promoting mental well-being for students and families alike!
