Mental Health Week in Canada

Next week, May 7th - 13th, is Mental Health Week across the country. Sea-to-Sky NSSS Services for Friends, Family and Community have organized a workshop, training program and fundraising luncheon May 12th at Holyburn CC, West Vancouver to support the corridor.

Women and Wellness is a social awareness/fundraising event concerned with removing the stigma of mental illness by engaging women in conversation about how mental health issues affects them, their families, and their friends. Women are usually the frontline caregivers to those with mental health issues, and the Women and Wellness event acts as a forum to promote learning, healing, and discussion to lessen the stigma.

A Tribute to Riley Dennehy

While Ginny and Kerry Dennehy addressed the viewers of CKNW, CBC, Global, Shaw and CTV on depression and suicide prevention, The Kelty Team travelled the Sea-to-Sky corridor to join community service providers and raise awareness for Mental Health illnesses amongst the high school students.

Canada Day Parade

The Kelty Patrick Dennehy Foundation gathered Marchers, The Black Tusk New Caledonian Bag Pipers from Squamish and Furry Friends to walk in Whistler's Canada Day Parade on July 1st, 2011.

Marching through a impressive crowd of people in Whistler Village, The Foundation promoted their next event, Ride Fore Life, and their mission of removing the stigma associated with mental illnesses.
