| Ainslie Kehler is a 19 year old student-athlete from North Vancouver,
British Columbia. She is currently studying at the University of Victoria where she is working towards a BSc in Kinesiology.
She is also an avid triathlete; who races for Team BC, and Pacific Sport of Canada. Always up for a challenge, Ainslie
has decided to enter the most prestigious triathlon of them all – Ironman Canada. Taking place on August 24th, 2003
in Penticton BC, Ainslie will be the youngest female competitor out of the 2,300 triathletes from around the world.
The triathlon consists of a 2.4 mile swim, a 122 mile bike, and finishes off with nothing less than a full marathon,
26.2 miles.
Along with this challenge, Ainslie has made it her personal goal to raise money and awareness for the Kelty Patrick
Dennehy Foundation. She has decided that if she can swim, bike, and run 150 miles in 17 hours or less, then everyone
else can do their part to support a charity trying to design programs to educate and prevent teenage depression and
suicide. Her ultimate goal is to raise $50 for every mile she swims, bikes, and runs during the Ironman.
